Outstanding Resident Research Project Award (New 2010 Award)
MSHP will be sponsoring an award to recognize exceptional projects from PGY-1 and PGY-2 residency programs. The MSHP Outstanding Resident Research Project Award is presented to a pharmacy resident in recognition of an outstanding resident research project. Three finalists will be selected to present their projects at the Annual Conference. Criteria for selection will be based on:
- Originality and innovative nature of the project
- Significance of the project in the health system
- Demonstration of improvement in quality of patient care
- Quality of written submission
Primary Criteria - Project Description
- Background
- Goals and objectives (see criteria above)
- Methodology (study design)
- Outcomes (quality of data)
- Discussion (innovative aspect of project, attainment of goals, importance of the project in pharmacy
practice)
- Conclusion (project impact)
Secondary Criteria
- Submission style (correct grammar, font, spelling, etc.)
- Organization (flow of content, clear articulation of project, etc.)
Requirements
- Must be a current member of MSHP
- Currently in a PGY-1 or PGY-2 residency program
A pharmacist panel will evaluate the presentation to provide feedback and the audience will vote to determine the award recipient. The award recipient will be announced at the Annual Conference Awards Ceremony.
